"If I had to name my greatest strength, I guess it would be my humility. Greatest weakness, it's possible I'm a little too awesome." -- Barack Obama

What to Believe When You Didn't Pay Attention in Science Class

posted Tuesday, 6 March 2007

After I wrote about the documentary Jesus Camp, SudieGirl left a comment about another documentary called "Friends of God."

I looked it up on YouTube and found a great clip.  Then I shared it with two other people who thought it was great too.  One blogged about it and the other passed it on to someone else.  We've got a chain reaction going on now.

Here's the video:

Buddy Davis refers to a passage from the bible, Job 40:15, as proof that dinosaurs existed with man.  I checked it out on BibleGateway.com.  The passage says:

"Look at the behemoth, which I made along with you and which feeds on grass like an ox."

So there it is.  All the proof you need to know that dinosaurs existed with man.  Check out Davis' slide show on the video.  Dinosaurs even pulled carts for people!  I'm going to go out on a limb here and take the risk of being struck down by lightning, but is it possible the bible was referring to an elephant when it mentioned behemoth?  I mean, I know it's reaching, but it is a possibility.

Top Reasons Why You Should Teach Your Kids Creationism:

1)  It's more fun.  If you teach evolution, you have to start with all that stuff about single-celled organisms.  BORING.  A magical being that created the earth in a week is much more interesting, especially for kids.

2)  It's easier (just like the woman said in the video).  Parents are too busy to teach evolution and it's just too complicated.  Creationism solves this problem.  Besides, if they believe in Santa Claus, they'll believe anything else you tell them.

3)  If you don't believe in creationism, God will kill you and then torture you.  For eternity.  I think that's reason enough right there.
