I'm wearing my lucky tee-shirt today, which has a Prison Blues logo across the front of it.
I like it because when people see it they look confused. I think they wonder if I was in prison. I call it my lucky tee because, for some reason, it's a guy magnet. Two guys came up to me in the grocery store and asked where I got it. Another one asked me at Target. Today, the guy who brought my wireless kit to my hotel room said he liked my shirt. What is it about a shirt with the world "PRISON" on it that draws people? Maybe, it gives off a bad girl image. I'm okay with that.
Anyway, the shirt is made by 100% genuine prison inmates in Pendleton, Oregon, and I must say that for a basic tee shirt, the quality is good. I copied this from the website:
"Prison Blues® is just one of many programs created by Oregon’s Department of Corrections progressive Inmate Work Programs (IWP) with the goal of instilling inmates with important work skills and a positive work ethic. Of Oregon’s paroled inmates, only 33% have been shown to reoffend compared to a nationwide average of 46.8%. Recidivism rates have progressively decreased in Oregon over the past 4 years."
I hope more prisons adopt this system.
