I got overexcited with the results of the Iowa Caucus.
And I formulated some opinions and predictions based on that outcome. I should know better, but I was hopeful based on who I want to win, which doesn't really affect the results. I did want to believe that whoever won the Iowa Caucus would take the whole cake. But, I'm back to reality now with the New Hampshire Caucus. Because, I figured (based on my own hopefulness and nothing else) that if the NH Caucus produced the same results -- Obama in first, Edwards in second, and Clinton in third; that, every (or almost every) state would follow those leads.
Damn, what a buzzkill.
Want to know what really irks me about Hillary? I'm gonna tell you anyway. I hate it when she says, ""And when I am president of the United States..." Because it makes me think she knows something I don't know and then I don't trust her. I also think her little tearfest was fake as well. It seemed almost believable up until that split second when she looks into the camera, as if to make sure the camera was getting that moment. I applaud her efforts in trying to "keep it real," but I detected fakeness. Note to self: Check dictionary to see if fakeness is an actual word.
Edwards needs to change up his speech when doing a new caucus. In Iowa, we heard about the little 7-year old girl who would be dead if it weren't for his getting her a liver transplant (or whatever it was). But, he told that same story in New Hampshire. He needs some fresh material.
I missed Obama's speech because I started watching that movie with Will Farrell in it. The one where his life is being narrated by a fiction writer. It was okay. Better than most of his movies. But, my point is I already know where Obama stands on the issues and I know where Edwards stands too. What I don't know is where Hillary stands on anything and I'm not sure she knows either. So, that wraps up my little coverage of the New Hampshire Caucus.
I still have nothing to say about the Republicans.
Update - January 15, 2008: Did anyone else get confused about the difference between caucuses and primaries, or was it just me? Up until after the New Hampshire Caucus I thought they were basically the same thing. Anyway, I read about them and understand the differences now. That might also explain why I got a B instead of an A in my Government & Politics class.
